Matteo Cocco has an extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Matteo started their career as a Librarian at Università degli Studi di Roma 'La Sapienza' in 2010. In 2011, they worked as a Technical Translator at The Story Mechanics, followed by a Marketing Internship at Wiley-Blackwell. Later that year, they interned at David Fickling Books. In 2012, they worked as an Assistant Producer at Touch Press Inc. and also gained experience as a Sales & Marketing Intern at New Internationalist. In 2013, they returned to Touch Press Inc. as an Assistant Producer, where they worked on award-winning apps for iOS. Matteo then joined Simon and Schuster in 2014 as a Data Analysis & Production Assistant. From 2015 to 2017, they worked at Pan Macmillan as a Digital Publishing Executive and later as a Digital Operations Controller. Since 2017, Matteo has been at Storytel, initially as a Content & Curation Manager and currently as a Team Lead - Content Analytics. As a Team Lead, they lead a team supporting various business functions, with a focus on Content and Publishing areas. Matteo is responsible for projects involving advanced data analysis and the application of NLP techniques. Matteo is also responsible for scoping and defining project requirements in alignment with stakeholders.

Matteo Cocco holds a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Publishing from Oxford Brookes University, which they obtained from 2011 to 2012. Matteo then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Management with Business Innovation from Birkbeck, University of London, completing it from 2014 to 2016. Before that, Matteo earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Literature & Journalism from Sapienza Università di Roma, studying from 2007 to 2010.

In addition to their formal education, Matteo Cocco has also obtained several certifications. In March 2021, they completed the "LookML Foundations" certification from Looker. Matteo acquired the "SAS Programming 1: Essentials" certification from SAS in August 2019. Matteo also undertook the "ONIX: Essential training course" with Book Industry Communication Ltd in November 2016, and the "Tableau Desktop 1" certification through InterWorks in October 2016.
