Jennifer Xu serves as the Computer Vision Tech Lead at STR since May 2023, where leadership encompasses an interdisciplinary team focused on innovative video and image understanding applications in mixed reality and complex recognition scenarios. Prior roles include Lead Engineer at Meta and Image Quality Engineer at Expedition Technology Inc. Experience as a Member of the Technical Staff at Northrop Grumman and Senior Systems Engineer further underscores expertise in systems engineering. Significant academic accomplishments include a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, where Jennifer Xu developed an image quality model for photon-counting x-ray detectors and designed a dedicated imaging scanner for medical use. Earlier experience features internships at Medtronic and Oak Ridge National Laboratory, contributing to advancements in glucose sensor technology and environmental cleanup applications, respectively.
