Nathan Shnidman

Nathan Shnidman has had a diverse range of work experience in various roles and companies. Starting in 1997, they worked as a Research Assistant at MIT, where they contributed to the design and implementation of the RAW tiled processor and parallelized wireless communication algorithms. From 2006 to 2009, they were a Lead Signal Processing Engineer at MITRE, leading teams in analyzing, improving, and hardening GPS performance and usage. In 2009, they became a Principal Technologist at Axis Semiconductor, Inc., where they focused on creating a novel embedded DSP architecture. From 2010 to 2014, they served as an Associate Director at BAE Systems, leading programs on video understanding, exploitation, and signal/image processing on Android devices. Nathan then became a Group Leader at Draper Laboratory from 2014 to 2015, where they managed a team and focused on signal processing, fusion, and machine learning algorithms. From 2015 to 2017, they co-founded Lexumo, Inc. and held various roles as Chief Scientist, VP of Engineering, and Co-Founder, responsible for product vision, team management, and customer interaction. Currently, they are a Chief Engineer at Systems & Technology Research, where they focus on computer vision, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, acting as a principal investigator and program manager while providing technical leadership consulting and problem-solving expertise.

Nathan Shnidman's education history includes a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, which they obtained from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from 1991 to 1995. Nathan then pursued a Master's degree in the same field, also at MIT, from 1995 to 1996. Finally, they completed their educational journey by earning a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT between 1997 and 2006.
