Mike W. has a diverse work experience in the IT industry, primarily focusing on SQL Server and database administration and development. Mike founded Straight Path IT Solutions in 2011, where they served as the CEO and SQL Server Geek, helping clients solve challenges in SQL Server. Mike was recognized as a Microsoft SQL Server MVP from 2011 to 2020 for their contributions to the technical community. Mike also worked as a Partner and Managing Director at Linchpin People, where they helped run the company and provided SQL Server expertise. Prior to that, they were the SQL Server Practice Lead at Winxnet, where they started and grew the SQL Server consulting practice. Mike has also worked as a Database Administrator and Developer at various companies, including Liberty International Underwriters, EBSCO Publishing, Health Dialog, and Health Resources. Mike has experience supporting and optimizing large multi-instance environments, performance testing and tuning, ETL, data warehouse design, and developer support.

Mike W. attended Southern New Hampshire University and earned credits in the field of study with a focus on Information Systems. Their education at Southern New Hampshire University lasted until 2003. In 2010, Mike W. obtained a certification as a Microsoft Certified IT Professional - SQL Server 2008 DBA (MCITP).
