Devin Gilbert

Devin Gilbert is an Assistant Professor of Spanish and Translation/Interpreting at Utah Valley University since August 2021, where responsibilities include teaching Spanish translation and interpreting courses as part of a minor program. Additionally, Devin has been a freelance translator for Straker Translations since July 2018, focusing on ES_ES to EN_US translations and terminology research for technical avionics manuals. Prior academic experience includes serving as a Doctoral Fellow at Kent State University from August 2018 to August 2021 and as a Graduate Student at Wake Forest University, where a Master of Arts in Translation and Interpreting Studies was obtained. Devin's teaching experience also includes a position as a 6th Grade Teacher in the Dual Language Immersion Spanish Program at T.O. Smith Elementary within Ogden City School District. Education credentials feature a PhD in Translation Studies from Kent State University, an MA in Spanish/Portuguese Interpreting & Translation from Wake Forest University, and a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish and Latin American Studies from Weber State University.
