Laurie Neil has had a diverse career history with experience in IT, financial aid, and banking. Laurie began their career in Continental Illinois National Bank and Trust as a programmer and progressed to become a project lead in information technology. Later, they worked at Cort Direction Inc as a quality control analyst before joining Bank of the Cascades as a main branch supervisor. In 1997, they became a lead systems analyst at Central Oregon Community College where they trained and set up business units converting to institution-wide software packages. Laurie also served as the financial aid director and reduced student/customer wait times from two months to two weeks. In 2005, they joined Strata Information Group as a senior consultant (financial aid) where they led short and long term projects for colleges and universities to improve processes and trained institutions to continue after the project ends. In 2015, they joined Ellucian as a senior business analyst to track and analyze federal regulations, improve financial aid software products, and ensure regulatory compliance. Along with their daily work, they are currently working on coursework to improve their understanding of development methodologies with a goal of certification through the Scrum Alliance and the Project Management Institute.
Laurie Neil earned their Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Math from the University of Dayton between 1976 and 1979. Laurie then completed their Master of Business Administration degree with a focus on Business and Technology from Concordia University-Portland between 2004 and 2006.
