Bill Thurston has a diverse work experience in the field of consulting and education. Bill started their career in 1999 at TDCI Inc. as an Experienced Consultant, where they provided application and business consulting services. Bill then joined Exact Software as a Sr. Consultant, where they worked on escalated accounts and facilitated issue resolution. In 2008, they worked at SAP as a Solution Advisor, assessing the needs of prospective customers for SAP's new SAAS offering. From 2009 to 2010, they worked as a Project Manager/Consultant for various companies, focusing on supply chain management and process improvement. Bill then joined itelligence as a SAP ByDesign Solution & Service Advisor from 2010 to 2013. In 2013, they worked at EntryPoint Consulting as a Sr. Consultant - Business ByDesign and at ZAGG, Inc. as a SAP ByD Project Coordinator. In 2017, they served as a Supply Chain Management Contractor at Watson Standard. Most recently, in 2021, they joined Strategic Information Group as a Senior Consultant. Additionally, since 2010, they have also been working as an Adjunct Professor at Franklin University.

Bill Thurston's education history includes obtaining an MBA degree in Production and Operations Management from The Ohio State University, which they attended from 1991 to 1993. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration at The Ohio State University from 1982 to 1993. In addition to their degrees, Bill has also obtained several certifications, including CIRM from APICS in January 1995, PMP from the Project Management Institute in October 2003, and CPIM-F and CSCP-F from APICS in July 2018.
