Steven Moortel

With over two decades working in state and local politics, Steven has amassed a wealth of experience both within the political sphere as a legislative staffer as well as a consultant and with some of the largest companies, school districts and nonprofits in the state.

Steven began his career as a staffer at the Arizona House of Representatives working as a legislative analyst. By the age of 24, he became one of the youngest policy advisors providing guidance on a wide range of legislative issues, including budget, healthcare, banking, insurance, energy, government, infrastructure, and immigration.

For the past decade, Steven has worked as a contract consultant and lobbyist serving a wide range of diverse clientele. In this time, he’s worked with the state’s largest employer, physician group, and school district, along with nonprofit organizations of all sizes.

Steven is most proud of the work that he has done to ensure healthcare coverage for the state’s working poor as well as his instrumental advocacy towards restoring the state’s children’s health insurance program. Additionally, Steven prides himself on his advocacy for foster youth.
