Sébastien Labrecque

Sébastien Labrecque is a bilingual Senior Consultant at StrategyCorp. Prior to joining the firm, Sébastien was a Manager, Public Policy and Issues, for a major national organization representing the Canadian professional accounting profession. During his time there, he leveraged his proven analytical skills and knowledge of government affairs to significantly contribute to the advocacy and thought leadership work of the organization on complex policy issues related to data privacy, anti-money laundering and taxation.

Before pivoting to government relations, Sébastien worked in the federal government, which led him to develop a thorough understanding of the inner workings of policy and research development in the public service. Thanks to his experience at Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation and Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada, Sébastien possesses an extensive knowledge of the policy and stakeholder ecosystems in the areas of housing finance and the digital economy.

Sébastien holds a Master of Public and International Affairs from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science from Université Laval. He also completed doctoral studies in political science during which he passed his major field exam in international relations with distinctions. Sébastien’s outstanding research and communication skills enabled him to publish and present on a variety of topics related to international trade and global finance.

Sébastien is a three-time Academic All-Canadian as a member of the University of Ottawa men’s ultimate frisbee club, which he captained in his last two years of school. As a strong supporter of the importance of amateur sports and giving back to the community, Sébastien coached Ottawa’s top junior ultimate frisbee boys’ team at many Canadian Junior Championships.
