Brian J. Rolfes

Brian Rolfes is a partner with McKinsey & Company based in their Toronto office. For 12 years, Brian led all talent acquisition efforts for McKinsey globally, overseeing their strategic and operational recruiting matters for all hires (campus and lateral, consultants and administrative staff) across 60+ countries and 35,000+ personnel. He has been with McKinsey for 27 years and prior to his recruiting role, he worked with retail banking and marketing clients. He also served as Director of Professional Development, leading all talent functions for McKinsey Canada. Brian is the co-founder and a leader of McKinsey's LGBTQ+ affinity group. Brian's education includes: BA, Public Administration, Carleton University; BA (Juris) Law, Oxford University; LLB Law, University of Saskatchewan; and LLM Law, Cambridge University. Brian is a Rhodes Scholar and is called to the bars of Ontario and Saskatchewan. For more than a decade, Brian has led the Ontario Rhodes Scholarship Selection Committee. Brian's interests in politics and human rights have served him well in the past as a member of the Mayor of Toronto's Diversity Council and as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Community Church of Toronto for many years. He has served a number of pro bono clients such as the Toronto Community Foundation, the Smithsonian Institute in Washington DC, and the US-based Point Scholarship Foundation. His leadership has been recognized, including by the Canadian business LGBTQ+ community (Out on Bay Street) and the inaugural LGBTQ+ Leadership Award at McKinsey. In 2018, Brian was ranked #17 on the Financial Times global "OUTstanding Role Models" list. He shares his interest in law and travelling with his husband, Brad Berg, a litigation partner at the national firm Blake Cassels & Graydon. Brian joined the Stratford Festival's Board in March 2018. He chairs the Marketing & Communications committee and has served on the Education & Archives committee.
