Claude Jones

Claude Jones is currently the VP of Engineering at Strava. Prior to joining Strava, Claude was the Senior Director of Engineering - Omni Assortment Tools at Walmart Global Tech. In this role, Claude was responsible for defining the vision, strategy, and execution plan for unifying the assortment management tooling capabilities. Claude led a international team of over 200 talented associates across 4 different time zones which include product, design, engineering, architecture, and program.

Scope include managing a team responsible for developing backend services to streamline manual processes by connecting systems to automate the end-to-end merchandising process across catalog, supplier, assortment management, replenishment, store, and ecommerce systems. Additionally, Claude was responsible for developing the building blocks to enable development of UI capabilities, including (but not limited to) application platforms, workflow management, data access, data consolidation, and assortment versioning. Lastly, Claude drove initiatives that improved the team's overall operational efficiency by reducing tech debt, improving systems monitoring and availability, and reducing infrastructure, development, and support costs.

Before Walmart Global Tech, Claude was at Elevate Foundation where they were responsible for creating training programs that focused on developing essential skills for success in work and life. Prior to Elevate Foundation, Claude was at The Practical Leadership Guy where they developed leadership training programs for organizations. Before The Practical Leadership Guy, Claude was at San Diego Tech Hub where they were responsible for connecting tech companies with talent in the San Diego area.

Claude Jones has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from San Diego State University and is certified in Learning Data Governance from LinkedIn.
