Sam Hinton-Smith

Sam Hinton-Smith serves as the Head of Public Policy EMEA & APAC at Stripe, overseeing the Public Policy & Government Relations team across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific since June 2019. With previous roles including Head of Public Policy for EMEA and the UK, and policy lead for digital assets at Stripe, Sam's extensive experience includes board membership at UK Finance and participation in the European Central Bank's Digital Euro Market Advisory Group. Prior positions include Director at TheCityUK, Head of Public Affairs & Public Policy at Santander UK, Chair of the UK Government Affairs Committee at the British Bankers' Association, and significant roles in public affairs at Nomura, John Lewis Partnership, Demos, and DLA Piper. Sam holds both an MPhil and a BA in Modern History from the University of Oxford.
