Nakima Santiago

Young Adult Facilitator at STRIVE

Nakima Santiago is an experienced professional in youth advocacy and education, currently serving as a Young Adult Facilitator at STRIVE since January 2022, focusing on leadership development, advocacy, and career preparation. Prior experience includes roles as a Youth Advocate and Education Advocate at Friends of Island Academy from February 2017 to June 2021, and as a Skill Coach at Graham Windham, where Nakima specialized in supporting foster care youth in crisis by building life skills and implementing behavioral modifications. Additional experience includes a position as a Skill Coach at MTFC and serving as a Paraprofessional in the NYC Department of Education, providing individualized educational support for special education students and crisis intervention from February 2012 to February 2014. Nakima holds an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences from CUNY Hostos Community College and is currently pursuing studies in Sociology and Psychology at Lehman College.
