Mika Krause

Mika Krause is the Managing Director at STRIVE Prep. Prior to that, they were the Principal at Moving Everest Charter School from July 2014 to July 2018. Under their leadership, the school saw great academic growth, with scholars averaging 1.24 years growth on NWEA and 1.48 years growth on the STEP literacy assessment. The school also went from being a K-1 building to a K-3 school supporting 360 scholars.

Some of their accomplishments include being a data-driven leader, overseeing weekly observation and feedback cycles for teaching staff, creating a school-wide strategic plan, and leading the school approval process with the Chicago Public Schools Board of Education. Mika has also implemented differentiated professional development tracks for 100% of staff, aligned to observation and feedback goals and data trends. Thanks to their dedication and leadership, Moving Everest Charter School has become one of the top schools in Chicago.

Mika Krause has a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from DePaul University and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

They work with Jess Saven Barton - Senior Director of Data and Assessment, Susan Morris - Managing Director. Mika Krause reports to Teryn Thomas, Chief Schools Officer.
