Emily Mayer

Emily Mayer has a diverse work experience spanning over a period of several years. Emily is currently working at STRIVR as an Instructional Design Manager since August 2022. Prior to this role, they served as a Sr. Instructional Designer from April 2021 to August 2022. At STRIVR, they design and develops 360-video virtual reality experiences and soft skill simulations for Fortune 500 companies, focusing on areas such as customer service, leadership, manufacturing, and safety.

Before joining STRIVR, Emily worked at Cengage Learning starting from January 2014. Emily held multiple roles during their tenure, including Learning Designer from November 2016 to May 2018. As a Learning Designer, they were responsible for developing and revising online workforce training programs delivered via a proprietary LMS. Their project topics ranged from graphic design, IT, healthcare, accounting and bookkeeping, soft skills, and computer software training.

Emily also previously worked at Cengage Learning as an Associate Project Editor from October 2014 to October 2016 and as a Product Development Administrative Assistant from January 2014 to October 2014.

In the earlier phase of their career, Emily was employed at SDI Media as an English Subtitle Editor from February 2008 to January 2014.

Emily Mayer obtained their Bachelor's degree in English from the University of Redlands. Emily later pursued a Certificate in Copyediting from UC San Diego Extended Studies in 2008-2009. Finally, they completed their Master of Science in Learning Design and Technology from the University of Missouri-Columbia between 2016 and 2018.
