Daan Smit

Daan Smit has a diverse and progressively advancing work experience. Daan started their career in 2015 as a Mechanical Cabin Engineer Intern at Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance. In 2017, they worked as a Graduation intern at Knowledge Centre WMC. In 2019, Daan joined Albert Heijn, where they worked as a Team Leader for nearly ten years until January 2019. In the same year, they joined ERIKS as a Jr. CAD Engineer for a brief period. Since September 2019, Daan has been associated with Strohm, initially as a Graduate Student until October 2020, followed by the role of Jr. Composite Engineer until November 2021. Currently, they hold the position of Composite Engineer at Strohm.

Daan Smit has a strong educational background in aerospace engineering. Daan obtained their Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering from Delft University of Technology in 2020, after completing a bridging program in the same field at the same institution from 2017 to 2018. Prior to their Master's, Daan pursued a Bachelor of Engineering in Aviation Studies - Engineering from Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, which they completed from 2013 to 2017. Their pre-university education includes a diploma in Science & Engineering and Science & Health from Petrus Canisius College Het Lyceum, which they obtained from 2009 to 2013.

In addition to their formal degrees, Daan has also earned various certifications. Daan holds a Master of Science certification from TU Delft in Aerospace Engineering, obtained in July 2020, as well as a Getuigschrift hoger beroepsonderwijs from Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, achieved in June 2017. Daan completed the Honours Programme at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences in June 2017 as well. Daan also holds a Certificate Studium Excellentium from the same institution, earned in 2015. Other certifications include a Propaedeutic diploma in Aviation Studies from Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences in 2014, a Diploma in Science & Technology - Pre-University Education from Petrus Canisius College in 2013, and a Diploma in Science & Health - Pre-University Education from the same college in 2013.

Furthermore, Daan has completed several additional certifications related to data science, including Intermediate Python for Data Science, Intro to Python for Data Science, and Introduction to Data Visualization with Python, all obtained through DataCamp.
