Sara Betsworth has a diverse work experience starting in 2002 with the Big Lottery Fund, where they worked as the Head of Region until 2013. Following that, they joined the Stroke Association and held several roles, including Regional Head of Operations (East), Regional Director, Head of Stroke Support, and currently, they are serving as the Service Delivery Lead. In 2022, Sara became a Board Member at Samphire Homes.
Sara Betsworth pursued their education from 1992 to 1995 at the University of Wolverhampton, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Studies in European Culture with Media and Communications. Later, in 2009 and 2010, they enrolled at The Open University to study Fundamentals of Senior Management (Post Graduate) and further enhance their skills in Senior Management.

The Stroke Association is here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. They believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke. They provide specialist support, fund critical research and campaign to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support to rebuild their lives. Rebuilding lives after a stroke is a team effort. It takes the determination of stroke survivors and carers, the generosity of supporters and the dedication of the healthcare and research communities to get there. To help in the recovery of stroke survivors the Stroke Association provides information, support and advice. Their key areas of work include: support services, information, research, fundraising, campaigning, and volunteering.
