John De Rango has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. John began their career as a Marketing Executive at Fitzroy Football Club in 1995, followed by a similar role at Brisbane Lions until 1999. In 2000, they became the Membership Manager at St Kilda Football Club, and then moved on to Carlton Football Club as the Membership Manager from 2002 to 2003.
From 2003 to 2008, John held various positions at Save The Children Australia, starting as the National Client Services Manager and later becoming the General Manager of Marketing & Fundraising. John then established their own company, Redstone Marketing & Design, where they worked as the Director until 2014.
In 2014, John joined The Royal Melbourne Hospital & NorthWestern Mental Health as the Director of The Royal Melbourne Hospital Foundation until 2016. John then transitioned to their role as the Executive Director of Marketing & Fundraising at Stroke Foundation, which they still hold.
Additionally, in 2020, John became the Chair of the Board of Directors at the Public Fundraising Regulatory Association Australia. Throughout their career, John has gained extensive experience in marketing, fundraising, and leadership roles within various organizations.
John De Rango completed a Bachelor of Business degree with a focus on Marketing at RMIT University from 1991 to 1994. In 2019, they participated in the 2019 Ascent Program at Melbourne Business School, studying Organizational Leadership. Additionally, in 2018, John completed the Governance Foundations for Not-for-Profit Directors course at the Australian Institute of Company Directors. John is also a Professional Member of the Fundraising Institute Australia (MFIA).
