Angus Maiden

Angus Maiden has a diverse work experience starting from their role as a Customer Contact Officer at Serco where they recovered over $3.5 million in outstanding taxes in 1.5 years. Angus then worked as a Collections Officer at recoveriescorp, recovering over $2.5 million in outstanding taxes within a year. Angus later became a Small Business Owner and operated an international online record label, managing and promoting various recording artists. Angus further worked as a Client Engagement Officer at the Australian Taxation Office, resolving audit cases and reducing the tax gap by over $2 million. Angus also gained experience as a Full-stack Developer at Data 2 Intelligence Consulting, where they developed a platform to improve local business decision-making using Melbourne's Open Data Platform. Additionally, Angus served as the Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Gopher Industries, overseeing a team of over 65 student employees and successfully developing innovative med-tech products. Angus then joined Deakin University as a Visiting Researcher, utilizing their resources to publish their research on facial expression recognition. Currently, Angus is employed as the Data Science Technical Lead at StrongRoom AI, leading a team of developers and using AI, Machine Learning, and Data Science to provide analysis and insights to healthcare professionals.

Angus Maiden's education history begins in 1997 when they attended Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School, where they completed their Victorian Certificate of Education in 2003. Following this, in 2008, they pursued a Certificate IV in Music Industry (Technical Production) at Melbourne Polytechnic. In the subsequent year, Angus obtained an Advanced Diploma of Music Industry (Technical Production) from the same institution.

In 2015, Angus enrolled at Swinburne University of Technology and graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) degree, specializing in Accounting. Angus then pursued further education at Deakin University, where they completed a Graduate Certificate of Artificial Intelligence in 2020.

Continuing at Deakin University, Angus obtained a Graduate Certificate of Data Analytics in 2021. Additionally, they successfully completed a Master of Applied Artificial Intelligence (Professional) degree specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in 2022.

Angus holds additional certifications, including a certification from Microsoft as a Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Fundamentals professional, obtained in June 2021. Angus also earned a Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Fundamentals certification in May 2021. Lastly, Angus became an Associate Member of CPA Australia in July 2020.
