Tom Burton

Tom Burton is a seasoned engineering professional currently serving as the System Engineering Manager at Stryker since March 2022, leading a team focused on next-generation wearable devices. Prior to this role, Tom held various engineering positions, including Principal Systems Engineer and Systems Engineering and Test Lead at McLaren Applied (2018-2022), where responsibilities included overseeing Class I Medical Devices and establishing key performance indicators for micromobility products. Tom’s career also includes a tenure as Head of Medical and Senior Design Engineer at Armourgel (2016-2018) and consulting experience with The Technology Partnership plc. Earlier research roles at institutions like Imperial College London and the University of Bristol focused on medical robotics and novel wearable technologies. Tom holds a PhD in Medical Robotics from the University of Bristol and a Bachelor's in Physics, Space Science and Robotics from Aberystwyth University.
