Charlie Welman

Charlie Welman has extensive experience in the legal field, starting as a Mini Pupillage at College Chambers in 2013. Charlie then served as a Pathways to Law Mentor and Vice-President of the University of Southampton Mooting Society while studying at the University of Southampton. In 2014, Charlie participated in a Vacation Scheme at Clyde & Co LLP and was a Mediation Finalist at Linklaters. Charlie also served as a Harvard World Model United Nations Delegate at The University of Hong Kong in the same year. Following this, Charlie joined Bond Dickinson LLP for a Vacation Scheme in 2015. Charlie then worked at Womble Bond Dickinson (UK) LLP as a Trainee Solicitor in Real Estate from 2017 to 2018. In 2018, Charlie moved to New Look as a Trainee Solicitor, and later as a Solicitor. From 2019 to 2021, they worked at Peakon as a Junior Legal Counsel. Currently, Charlie is employed at Student Beans as the Legal Counsel and DPO, and has recently been promoted to the role of Head of Legal and Privacy.

Charlie Welman's education history includes a Bachelor's Degree in LLB (Hons) International Legal Studies from the University of Southampton, which was obtained from 2012 to 2016. During this time, Charlie also attended the University of Hong Kong from 2014 to 2015, where they obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LLB.) in Law. After completing their undergraduate studies, Charlie pursued further education at the University of Law from 2016 to 2017. During this period, they completed an LLM degree in Professional Legal Practice and also obtained an LPC qualification in Law.
