Matt Werbin

Matt Werbin is the Head of QA at Studio 3T. Prior to that, they were the QA Manager at TomTom from July 2006 to January 2017. In their role at TomTom, Matt was responsible for managing all aspects of product quality during the hardware development stage for all consumer driving navigation products. Matt's involvement started from the initial project concept and continued through multiple prototype builds and all the way until release to mass production.

During their time at TomTom, Matt promoted quality goals to be incorporated into final design at initial project workshops with multi-national based project teams. Matt also defined quality specification in collaboration with project management and engineering teams and ensured full team alignment. Additionally, Matt represented quality in all project core team and engineering design meetings during the length of the project.

In addition to their responsibilities related to promoting and ensuring quality, Matt also audited production lines at contract manufacturing facilities during prototype builds while proposing improvements and promoting poka-yoke processes. Matt also led build report reviews and followed up with respective engineering teams on the analysis and resolution of hardware and production software issues.

Finally, Matt reviewed reliability test results from every prototype stage and had final say on acceptance criteria. Matt also ensured smooth entry into the mass production stage with a high and stable yield rate.

Matt Werbin has certification from the ISTQB - International Software Testing Qualifications Board in Foundation Certificate in Software Testing, and certification from IATF in ISO/TS16949:2009 Lead Auditor.

They are on a team with Graham Thomson - CTO / Co-Founder, Frank Pioppi - Video Content Manager, and Anthony Dillon - Head of Sales. Some direct reports include Donovan Kinney - Senior QA Engineer, Paul Charters - QA Engineer, and Daniel Adler - QA Engineer. Their manager is Thomas Zahn, CEO / Co-Founder.
