Ed Tavera

Ed Tavera is a seasoned civil engineering professional with extensive experience in geotechnical engineering. Currently serving as Senior Technical Principal and Geotechnical Engineering Chief at STV since October 2023, Ed previously held the role of Senior Geotechnical Engineer in the Transportation Sector at NOVA Engineering and Environmental, LLC from July 2018 to October 2023. As the President and Founder of GeoStellar Engineering, LLC from January 2011 to July 2020, Ed contributed significantly to projects in Louisiana and South Carolina. Other key positions include Principal at GeoEngineers, Senior Engineer at Fugro, and Geotechnical Engineer at SCDOT. Ed began a career in engineering in 1984 as a Staff Engineer, accumulating a wealth of knowledge and expertise across various organizations. Ed holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Louisiana State University, awarded in 1983.
