Jorge Porto

Jorge Porto has extensive work experience in the field of project management and sales in the telecommunications industry. Jorge has held positions at various companies, including SubCom and Tyco Telecommunications (now known as TE SubCom). At SubCom, they served as the Director of CALA Sales, where they led sales efforts in Latin America and the Caribbean resulting in over $500M in contract awards. Jorge also worked as the Director of Project Management, managing large and complex submarine telecom cable system supply projects and reporting financial and performance results to senior management.

At Tyco Telecommunications, Jorge held multiple roles, including Director of Project Management, where they managed complex submarine telecom cable system supply projects and reported financial and performance results. Jorge also served as the Director of Submarine Cable Maintenance, overseeing the design of processes to comply with company contracts and supporting contract negotiations.

Before joining SubCom and Tyco Telecommunications, Jorge worked at Telefonica as a Network Process Analyst, where they managed maintenance contracts and vendors for the company's submarine networks and implemented processes and procedures for network operation and maintenance.

Earlier in their career, Jorge worked at UTE as a Network Engineer, designing and overseeing the installation of fiber optic networks, implementing telecommunication solutions, and supervising the installation of high voltage facilities and power lines. Jorge also worked at a Medical Center as a Programmer and Software Developer, where they designed and implemented IT solutions and provided user support.

Overall, Jorge Porto has a strong background in project management, sales, and telecommunications, with experience in managing complex projects, developing sales strategies, and building client relationships.

Jorge Porto completed the Negotiation for Executives program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2016. In 2011, they participated in the Leadership Development Program at The Wharton School, focusing on Business Administration and Management. Previously, Jorge obtained their MBA from IDE-SECEM and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, with a specialization in Telecommunications, from the Universidad de la Republica Oriental del Uruguay.
