Varada Menon Palakkal

Varada Menon Palakkal has a strong background in research and development, specializing in materials development and technology innovation. They began their career as a Summer Research Fellow at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in 2014.

From 2015 to 2020, Varada worked as a Senior Research Assistant at Louisiana State University and the Argonne National Laboratory. In this role, they demonstrated expertise in ion-exchange membrane fabrication and the design of ionic-polymers, leading to a significant increase in energy efficiency for desalination. They also invented a new ionomer binder resin wafer for improved electrodeionization, resulting in a substantial increase in energy efficiency and faster separation.
