Melanie Barker Berkmen

Melanie Barker Berkmen is a distinguished academic in the field of biochemistry, serving as Professor and Chair at Suffolk University since September 2007, where responsibilities include directing courses such as Biochemistry I, Biochemical Techniques Lab, and Advanced Biochemistry Research Lab. Melanie has held various positions at Suffolk University, including Associate Professor and Interim Co-Chair. Prior to this, Melanie was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Biology at MIT from April 2002 to June 2007. Educational credentials include a PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Dayton.
