Daniel I. Simon, MD, is the Chief of Cardiovascular Medicine at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, the Director of the Harrington Heart and Vascular Institute, and the Herman K. Hellerstein Professor of Cardiovascular Research and Professor of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University. He previously taught at Harvard Medical School where he received his undergraduate and medical school education. Dr. Simon completed research and clinical fellowships in cardiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Beth Israel Hospital. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed basic science and clinical journals and serves on the Editorial Boards of Circulation and Journal American College Cardiology. Dr. Simon has received numerous research awards, including the prestigious MERIT Award from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, and the Society of Cardiac Angiography and Interventions.
