Maria Sommer

Maria Sommer has extensive experience in educational leadership, currently serving as Assistant Superintendent and Director of Curriculum and Instructional Support Services at Sullivan County BOCES since July 2017. Prior to this role, Maria held the position of Curriculum Coordinator/Staff Developer at River Vale, NJ Public Schools from July 2013 to June 2017, and served as a teacher in various subjects, including music and middle school science, at River Vale Public Schools from 1998 to 2013. Maria began their career as a 4th grade teacher at CS 200 in New York City in 1997. Maria holds an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Educational Leadership from SUNY Stony Brook, a Master of Science in Instructional Technology from New York Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from William Paterson University of New Jersey.
