Manuel Gonzales has a diverse and extensive work experience. Manuel started their career in 1991 as a Sergeant Major in the US Marine Corps and retired from this role in 2016. During their time in the Marine Corps, they served as a Martial Arts Instructor Trainer. In 1995, they joined SSVEC as a Journeyman Meter Technician and worked there until 2015. At SSVEC, they held various roles including Vice President of Technical Services, Tower Climber and Rescuer, and Technical Services and Fleet Manager. In 2002, Manuel became an Owner/Operator of PT's Gym LLC. In 2014, they joined TRX Training as a TRX Suspension Trainer. Currently, Manuel works as the Vice President of Technical Services at SSVEC.
Manuel Gonzales earned a Master's degree in Organizational Leadership from Arizona State University between 2020 and 2022. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Organizational Leadership from the University of Arizona from 2017 to 2020. Manuel also holds an Associate in Applied Science degree in Electric Power Technology from Bismarck State College, which they completed from 2015 to 2017. Additionally, they completed a Supervisory Certificate from Cochise College in 2016, and a certificate in Substation Maintenance 1, 2 Electrical Safety for Utilities from the AVO Training Institute in the same year. Manuel Gonzales has also obtained a certification in Basic Supervision from Fred Pryor Seminars/CareerTrack, divisions of Pryor Learning Solutions.

Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative is a non-profit, member-owned distribution cooperative providing electricity to more than 51,000 services over some 4,100 miles of energized line. Located in southeastern Arizona, the cooperative’s service territory covers parts of Cochise, Graham, Pima and Santa Cruz Counties and includes the communities of Sierra Vista, Huachuca City, Patagonia, Elfrida, Benson, St. David, Bowie, San Simon, Willcox, Sonoita and Pearce-Sunsites.
