Nathan Josephsohn

Nathan Josephsohn PhD has an extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Nathan is currently serving as the Executive Director of Global Business Development at Dainippon Sumitomo Pharma since March 2020. Prior to this, they founded Regenerate Therapeutics Inc and served as the CEO from January 2019 to January 2023.

Before their entrepreneurial venture, Josephsohn held multiple roles at Dainippon Sumitomo Pharma. From July 2015 to April 2016, they were the Head of US and EU and Director of External Innovation Development (EXID), where they focused on licensing, collaborations, and seed capital for programs related to lead optimization and Phase IIa. From April 2012 to July 2015, they worked as the Associate Director of the Global R&D Strategy Office, where they contributed to portfolio prioritization, global R&D budgets, and strategy development.

Josephsohn gained experience at Sunovion Pharmaceuticals Inc., where they served as the Associate Director of New Products Planning from July 2011 to April 2012 and as the Senior Manager of New Products Planning from July 2010 to July 2011. During their time at Sunovion, they played a vital role in the development of global strategies for neurology and oncology, including leading the creation of Sunovion's oncology strategy.

Before joining Sunovion, they worked as a Consultant at Leerink Swann from April 2008 to July 2010, focusing on healthcare management consulting for large pharma, biotech, and medtech companies. Prior to that, Josephsohn was a Scientist in Medicinal Chemistry at Abbott Laboratories from September 2004 to April 2008, where they contributed to preclinical drug discovery projects, particularly in the field of immunology.

Josephsohn started their career as a Research Associate at Los Alamos National Laboratory from January 1998 to July 1999.

Nathan Josephsohn PhD obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Fort Lewis College, where they studied from 1993 to 1997. Nathan then pursued their PhD in Organic Chemistry, specializing in the Hoveyda Lab at Boston College, from 1999 to 2004. Prior to their college education, they attended Skyline High School.
