Erin Curtiss

Erin Curtiss has a strong background in the legal field with a focus on capital markets and investment banking. Erin is currently the Managing Director and Head of Capital Markets and Investment Banking Legal at SMBC Group since March 2023. Prior to this, they held various roles at Credit Suisse, including Head of Americas Capital Markets Legal, Director, and Vice President and Counsel. Erin also has experience working at law firms, such as Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP & Affiliates, where they served as an Associate in the Corporate Finance practice, and Allen & Overy, where they worked as an Associate in the International Capital Markets, U.S. Law Group. Erin began their legal career as a Summer Associate at Nagashima Ohno & Tsunematsu in 2006. Throughout their career, Erin has gained expertise in diverse domestic and international securities transactions, including debt and equity offerings, IPOs, and advising on matters of U.S. law. Erin has also developed strong skills in drafting agreements, conducting due diligence, and managing corporate governance needs.

Erin Curtiss obtained a J.D./LLM degree in International and Comparative Law from Duke University School of Law, where they studied from 2005 to 2008. Prior to that, they earned a B.A. degree in Spanish and Political Science from Gettysburg College, where they attended from 2001 to 2005.
