Richard Palmer

Richard Palmer is an experienced finance professional specializing in shipping and aviation finance. Currently serving as Head of Shipping within the Ship & Aviation Finance Department at Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank Limited since November 2018, Richard previously held the position of Senior Director - Shipping Coverage at RBS from May 2003 to March 2018, where expertise included ship finance and relationship management across various sectors, including dry bulk and LNG. Earlier in Richard's career, leadership roles included Vice President of Credit Risk Management at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein and Credit Manager at Digital Finance UK Ltd. Richard's foundational experience began as a Senior Credit Analyst at Sanwa Business Credit (UK) Ltd and a Trade Underwriter at Trade Indemnity Plc.
