Edward Hazelrig

Edward Hazelrig has extensive work experience in quality assurance and compliance in the pharmaceutical industry. Edward is currently serving as the Senior Director of GMP Quality Assurance at Summit Therapeutics since December 2020.

Prior to this, Edward worked at Lexicon Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from June 2015 to September 2020. During their time there, they held the positions of Director of GXP Quality and Associate Director of GMP Quality. In these roles, they focused on ensuring GMP and GCP compliance with regulatory authorities, implementing compliance directives, and supporting quality management systems. Edward also played a key role in hosting regulatory inspections, providing QA support for various departments, managing site quality systems, developing supplier approval programs, and implementing process improvements.

Before joining Lexicon Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Edward worked as the Quality Manager CMO/NPD at Reckitt Benckiser from May 2013 to May 2015. In this role, they managed the audit schedule, maintained change control records, developed annual product reviews, managed documentation flow for CMO contracts, and conducted quality system audits.

Prior to that, Edward served as a Quality Specialist at Cook Pharmica LLc from June 2009 to April 2013. Their responsibilities included managing the internal audit program, reviewing and approving process validation protocols, conducting client audits, implementing complaint and exception management systems, participating in cross-functional investigation and project teams, and reviewing batch records for compliance.

Edward's career in quality assurance began at Baxter Healthcare, where they worked as a Quality Manager for a period of 24 years, from 1979 to 2003.

Edward Hazelrig has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Strategic Management from the University of Phoenix, obtained between 2012 and 2013.
