Jesse Garcia has a diverse work experience in the field of education. Jesse is currently employed at Summit K12 as the Director of School Partnerships since June 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Southwest ISD in various roles such as Executive Director of Community Partnerships, where they focused on establishing partnerships with businesses and organizations to benefit the students and their families. Jesse also served as the Executive Director of Professional Development and Instruction, overseeing the implementation of best practices in teaching. Before joining Southwest ISD, Jesse worked at Southwest Independent School District as the Director of School Improvement, ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements. Jesse also worked as the District Science Coordinator, Academic Coach, and 5th Grade Science Teacher. Jesse's earlier experience includes roles at Southside Independent School District as the Bilingual Coordinator, Education Service Center, Region 20 as the Educational Science Specialist, and South San ISD as a Bilingual Teacher in grades 4-5. Jesse began their teaching career at Edgewood ISD as a Bilingual Teacher in grades 3-6.
Jesse Garcia holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology, with a focus on General Biology, obtained from the University of the Incarnate Word, where they studied from 1991 to 1995. In 1995, they pursued a Teaching Certification at The University of Texas at San Antonio, completing the program in 1996. Recently, in 2014 and 2015, they pursued a Masters in Teacher Leadership with a specialization in Educational Leadership and Administration, General at Lamar University.
