Laura Medley

Laura Medley has diverse work experience in the healthcare industry, with a focus on laboratory services. Their most recent role is as the Administrative Director of Laboratory Services at Sumner Regional Medical Center, a position they started in January 2022. Prior to that, they worked at HCA Healthcare as the Tristar Division Director of Laboratory Services from September 2020 to January 2022. From December 2016 to September 2020, Laura served as the Director of Laboratory Services at TriStar Summit Medical Center. Laura also held roles at TriStar Summit Medical Center as the Laboratory Manager from May 2016 to December 2016, and as the Point of Care Coordinator from January 2014 to May 2016. Before joining TriStar Summit Medical Center, Laura worked at Harrison Medical Center as the Hematology Team Leader from August 2009 to May 2013.

Laura Medley has a diverse education history spanning several institutions and areas of study. Laura completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Health/Health Care Administration/Management at Western Governors University from 2018 to 2019. Prior to that, they attended Volunteer State Community College from 2013 to 2014, where they studied Chemistry. Laura also holds a Bachelor's degree in Management from the University of Phoenix, which they received from 2011 to 2013. Additionally, they obtained an Associate of Arts and Sciences (A.A.S.) degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Technician from Shoreline Community College, which they completed from 1993 to 1995.

In terms of certifications, Laura has obtained several in the medical field. In 1995, they became a Medical Laboratory Technician certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP). In 2008, they acquired the designation of Medical Technologist from the American Association of Bioanalysts. Most recently, in 2016, Laura earned the certification of Medical Laboratory Scientist from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
