Sarah Urick

Sarah Urick is an experienced scientist with a strong background in the research and development of effect pigments for various applications, including cosmetic, automotive, and industrial sectors. Currently serving as Scientist III at Sun Chemical since July 2021, Sarah leads technical projects and specializes in the aqueous deposition of metal oxides to enhance pigment properties. Previously, Sarah held similar roles at BASF Colors & Effects as Scientist III and Scientist II, and at BASF as Associate Scientist, contributing to pigment scale-up and photonic nanomaterials development. Early career experience includes roles at Bayer MaterialScience focused on UV-curable coatings and polymer analytics. Academic credentials include a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University and Bachelor’s degrees in Chemical Engineering and Chemistry from Carnegie Mellon University and Chatham University, respectively.
