Denny Gilbertson has had a diverse range of work experience. Denny began their career in 1983 at Waldorf University, where they held various roles including Assistant Athletic Director for Events & Facilities/Head Softball Coach, Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations, and Associate Director of Admissions. In these roles, they were responsible for budget management, staff supervision, facility scheduling, and admissions recruitment.
Denny then went on to work as a Financial Associate at Thrivent Financial for Lutherans from 2008 to 2010, and also founded and served as Founder/President/CEO of DG Fundraising during the same period.
In 2008, Denny founded and served as Founder/President/CEO of Texas Gulf Coast Splash, a collegiate softball spring training venue. Denny worked with the Brownsville Convention & Visitors Bureau and negotiated contracts with various vendors.
From 2015 to 2016, Denny worked as a Community Manager at Beaverdale Estates, where they were responsible for the day-to-day operation of an Independent Living Community in Des Moines, IA.
Denny'smost recent position was at Sun Communities & Sun RV Resorts, where they worked as a Sales Representative starting in 2016.

Denny graduated from Forest City High School in 1979 with a diploma. Denny then attended Waldorf College from 1979 to 1981, earning an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies. Denny continued their education at the University of Northern Iowa from 1981 to 1983, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Business Teacher Education.
After completing their bachelor's degree, Denny pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Sports Administration from Minnesota State University, Mankato, from 1988 to 1991.
In 2012, Denny enrolled in Columbia Southern University and earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Business Administration and Management, General in 2014.
