David Rackus

SVP, Application Services, Canada at Sun Life Financial

David Rackus is the Senior Vice President of Application Services at Sun Life Financial. David has been with Sun Life since January 2015, and in their current role, they oversee the company's application services in Canada.

Prior to their current role, Rackus served as the Vice President of Individual Insurance and Wealth IT at Sun Life from January 2013 to December 2015. In this role, they were responsible for leading the company's IT initiatives in the individual insurance and wealth management businesses.

Rackus began their career with Sun Life in 2008 as the Vice President of Group Benefits & Group Retirement IT. In this role, they oversaw the company's IT operations in the group benefits and retirement businesses. David held this position until 2013 when they were promoted to Vice President of Individual Insurance and Wealth IT.

Prior to joining Sun Life, Rackus spent 5 years at Johnson & Johnson in various IT leadership roles. David began as the Manager of Information Management in 1990 and was promoted to Sr. Director, Information Technology in 1999. In 2003, they were promoted again to Vice President of IT Services, a position they held until they left Johnson & Johnson in 2008 to join Sun Life.

David Rackus has a MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University and a BMath in Computer Science / Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo.

They work with Véronique Dorval - SVP, Client Experience Office, Wiktoria Kagan - AVP, Strategy & Planning - Office of the President, and Mike Schofield - VP, Chief Actuary & Chief Risk Officer. David Rackus reports to Jacques Goulet, President, Sun Life Financial Canada.
