Mike Garcelon

Mike Garcelon AACI, P.App., MRICS, Q.Arb has extensive work experience in the field of real estate appraisal and valuation. Mike began their career at Hudson Bay Company - Northern Stores Department as a Store Manager, overseeing all store operations and performance in various communities.

In 1990, they transitioned into the real estate industry and started their own business, North West Properties, where they worked as an Appraiser and Owner for 17 years.

In 2007, Garcelon joined Soderquist Appraisals Ltd. as the CEO and Senior Appraiser. Mike'sresponsibilities included day-to-day operations, quality control, training, and providing valuation and consulting services for various real property types and interests across western and northern Canada.

Since 2016, Garcelon has been working at Suncorp Valuations, where they have held multiple roles. Mike initially joined as a Senior Valuation Consultant and later became the Managing Director of the Real Property Group. In this role, they managed the firm's Real Estate Appraisal operations throughout Canada, oversaw staff training and supervision, and actively provided real estate valuation and consulting services for different property types, including commercial and industrial properties. Garcelon's current position at Suncorp Valuations is Vice President, Professional Services.

Mike Garcelon AACI, P.App., MRICS, Q.Arb obtained a Certificate in Arbitration from the ADR Institute of Alberta in 2013. Mike also studied Real Estate at The University of British Columbia from 1995 to 2000. In addition to their formal education, they have acquired various certifications including a Board of Revision Training Certificate from the Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy in 2022, an Indigenous Canada certification from the University of Alberta in 2021, a Certificate in LEAN Management from Simplilearn in 2019, a Marshall & Swift Commercial Cost Approach Certification from Marshall & Swift in 2015, an ARGUS DCF Valuation Course certification from Altus Group - ARGUS Enterprise in 2010, a Farm, Ranch, and Acreage Property Program Certificate from Olds College in 2004, and an AESAC Phase 1 ESA Certificate from the Association of Environmental Site Assessors of Canada in 1999.
