Emmanuel was appointed as the Country Manager and General Manager for Congo Iron in August 2013. He was elected President of the Congolese Mining Federation in November 2013. He brings to the group over 15 years of International Advisory, Business, Energy and Mining experience, most recently with BHP Billiton in Singapore where he gained extensive commercial experience as a senior strategist and analyst in both energy and metals commodities. Emmanuel has had great exposure across four continents which has allowed him to acquire excellent multi-cultural and interpersonal skills. This has translated, inter alia, in fluency in French and English and a fair ability in Mandarin and Spanish. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Mathematics from Columbia University (New York, USA) as well as a Master of Science (Honors) in Energy Studies (specialization in international oil and gas management) from Dundee University (Scotland, UK) where he graduated with overall distinction. He is a member of the Society of Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration (SME), the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), the African Leadership Network (ALN) and has had several paper and magazine publications including on his achievements in Forbes Africa.
