Dimitri Ottaviano

Director Of ESS Product Management at Sunlight Group Energy Storage Systems

Dimitri Ottaviano has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles in the renewable energy and engineering sectors. Dimitri began their career in 2006 with an internship at AgustaWestland, where they later worked as a Project Engineer and Flight Test Engineer. In 2012, they interned at Paul Scherrer Institut in the Energy Systems Analysis Office. Dimitri then joined Sunlabob Renewable Energy Ltd as the Head of Engineering from 2013 to 2015. Dimitri went on to work as a PV-Hybrid Senior Engineer at ET Solutions from 2015 to 2017. Dimitri then joined Samsung SDI as a Senior Application Engineer in the ESS division from 2017 to 2019. Dimitri's next role was at Northvolt, where they served as a Senior Product Manager for ESS from 2019 to 2021. Currently, they are working at Sunlight Group Energy Storage Systems as the Director of ESS Product Management, responsible for defining and developing the company's product strategy and leading a team of Product Managers to meet key performance indicators.

Dimitri Ottaviano's education history includes completing a Master's thesis in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at ETH Zürich in 2012. Dimitri also obtained a Master of Science degree in Renewable Energy from both the University of Kassel and the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg in the same year. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from Politecnico di Torino in 2007 and a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the same institution in 2004. Dimitri also participated in the Erasmus Program at the Technical University of Munich in 2005. Dimitri Ottaviano attended the National Test Pilot School in 2009 for Flight Test Engineering. Additionally, they hold certifications in Foundations for Business Leadership from IMD and Managing Product Platforms from MIT Sloan School of Management. Dimitri is also a holder of a Private Pilot Licence from the Federal Aviation Administration.
