Justin T. Carpenter

Justin T. Carpenter serves as the Managing Director, Associate General Counsel, and Head of Commercial Legal at Sunlight Financial since April 2018. Previously, Justin held the position of Associate General Counsel at the Solar Energy Industries Association from September 2022 to July 2023 and was a Partner at K&L Gates from January 2010 to April 2018. Justin's legal practice emphasizes commercial lending, corporate finance, and private equity, often representing lenders and borrowers in negotiations for secured and unsecured syndicated credit facilities, asset-based loans, and acquisition financings. Justin earned a Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
