Derek Spillane

Derek Spillane is an experienced IT professional currently serving as a Senior Consultant at SunMed since June 2023. Previously, Derek held the role of Sr IT Director at Surgalign, where responsibilities included migrating the company to a new ERP platform (SAP S4 Hana) and managing global enterprise applications and IT operations. Prior to Surgalign, Derek worked at Smith & Nephew, successfully delivering a greenfield manufacturing site in Malaysia while implementing a new global ERP platform during the COVID travel restrictions. Derek's career also includes significant roles at Johnson Controls, Accuvio, Dell, and Ingersoll Rand - Thermo King, where expertise spanned project and operations management, client relationship management, and ERP implementation across various international markets. Derek holds a Masters of Business Studies in Marketing and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Galway, along with additional education at Montana State University.
