Eleanor Gilbane has extensive experience in the legal field, particularly in commercial business and bankruptcy litigation. Eleanor is currently the Vice President and Associate General Counsel at Sunnova Energy, where they advise the business leaders on solar service products and other renewable energy solutions. Prior to this role, they worked as an Associate General Counsel at Sunnova Energy Corporation for five years. In 2013, Gilbane founded their own law firm, the Law Offices of Eleanor Heard Gilbane, PLLC, where they provided consulting services and litigation expertise. Before that, they worked as a Complex Commercial Litigator and Bankruptcy Litigator at Weil Gotshal & Manges LLP, representing clients in bankruptcy and appellate courts. Eleanor also worked as a Litigator at Bingham McCutchen LLP, where they assisted in the firm's representation of secured and unsecured lenders in complex insolvency litigation. Gilbane's early career included roles as a Litigator at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP and as a Law Clerk to Honorable Allen L. Gropper at the United States Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of New York.
Eleanor Gilbane earned their J.D. from New York University School of Law from 1998 to 2001. Prior to that, they obtained a BA magna cum laude in Art History and Hispanic Studies from Brown University (1995 to 1998). Eleanor was also included on the Dean's List with Distinction at Duke University from 1994 to 1995. In high school, they achieved High Honors at Philips Exeter Academy from 1990 to 1994.
