Chad Hagen has a passion helping sustainable companies and brands grow across the food, beverage, and ingredient sectors. His international experience spans over 25 years. Over the past 13 years, he has been helping SunOpta evolve into a leading plant & fruit-based beverage, food, and ingredient company.

In his current role at SunOpta, he serves as Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Business Development and is a member of the senior leadership team. He is responsible for all sales leadership, strategy, pipeline development, and commercial negotiations across the plant and fruit-based business units. His team manages a fast growing and innovative branded food and beverage portfolio that includes Dream, Sown, Sunrise, and Westsoy, a contract manufacturing business for emerging and leading CPG companies, category and account leadership for a private label product portfolio that is sold across multiple channels, and business development for a plant-based ingredient portfolio. A diverse customer set includes Amazon, Califia, Campbell Soup Company, Coca-Cola, Costco, General Mill’s, Kellogg’s, Kroger, Sam’s Club, Starbucks, Target, Trader Joe’s, Unilever, Walmart, and Whole Foods Market.

Prior to joining SunOpta, he spent over 10 years in the fresh produce industry developing brands and global organic supply chains in over 15 countries for Robinson Fresh, Newman’s Own, and Pavich Farms.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural business from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
