Susan Kalk

Susan Kalk is Chief Quality & Technical Operations Officer for Sunovion Pharmaceuticals Inc., a global biopharmaceutical company focused on the innovative application of science and medicine to help people with serious medical conditions.

Ms. Kalk is a member of the Sunovion Executive Leadership Team. In 2015, Ms. Kalk joined Sunovion as Head of Quality Compliance and Audit. In 2016 she was appointed Senior Vice President and Head of Global Quality. She is responsible for leading all aspects of Quality Assurance, Quality Control and Quality Compliance in the U.S., Canada, UK, and Japan for the drug development programs and marketed products of Sunovion and its parent company Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma Co., Ltd. Ms. Kalk oversees the Technical Operations function, focused on Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls (CMC), drug development, manufacturing and drug supply for clinical trials and commercial products for Sunovion.

Her leadership in quality management includes more than 25 years of global experience in the development, approval and commercialization of pharmaceutical, biologic and medical device products.

Prior to joining Sunovion, Ms. Kalk was Vice President of Quality Assurance at NPS Pharmaceuticals Inc. Previously she served in executive roles at Alexion Pharmaceuticals Inc. and Amgen Inc.

Kalk holds a B.S. degree in Biochemistry from University of Witwatersrand, South Africa. She is a member of Women In Bio and the Parenteral Drug Association.
