  Reporting to the Costing & Estimation Supervisor, the Costing & Estimation Analyst will bring cost accounting and financial modeling background to the divisional estimation team. The successful candidate will have experience in a manufacturing setting understanding cost drivers and product costing fundamentals along with a demonstrated ability to collaborate with different departments across the business. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand and estimate the relevant costs involved in the production and delivery of new and existing products.
  • Review and assess product and process requirement implications on cost inputs, including potential capital investments and other significant expenses related to the projects.
  • Develop pricing recommendations based on internal metrics including: financial thresholds, similar products, and competitive requirements.
  • Support other functional areas in the quantification of cost impacts from product and process design.
  • Collaborate with other departments in validating and sourcing data.
  • Coordinate and monitor projects involving cross-functional teams to achieve customer focused deadlines.
  • Critically evaluate and review estimates for accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform financial variance review of plant trial performance against financial estimates and provide support for relevant corrective actions.
  • Continually evaluate the cost estimation process for areas of improvement.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for improved cost control and cost reduction.
  • Coordinate with finance, procurement, and product development team members in the creation and updating of ERP bills of material (BOM) and routings.
  • Support organizational initiatives to enhance and grow data driven decision making.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for system and operational users.
  • Other job duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business.
  • A minimum of 2 years of cost accounting and/or estimating experience required, with a multi-site, multi-sku manufacturing and/or food processing background preferred.
  • Achieved or working towards a professional designation (CPA) is preferred but not required.
  • Experience working with ERP systems, more specifically with bills of material (BOM), routings and MRP concepts.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Excel and estimation/quoting tools.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Team player with exceptional ability to establish and maintain quality relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong work ethic and a demonstrated ability to deliver results within agreed to timelines.
  • High attention to detail.
