Julian Mullaney has a diverse work experience in the field of research and development in the telecommunications industry. Julian started their career in 1985, working as an Engineer in Telecom R&D at Raychem, where they played a crucial role in developing sealing technologies for copper connection protection and telecom closures. In 1994, they became an R&D Manager at Raychem, responsible for new product development in the Telecom division. Julian then held the position of Director of R&D for Telecom North America at Raychem/Tyco Electronics from 2002 to 2012, where they managed new product development and also worked closely with customers to identify innovative product opportunities during the rapid broadband and fiber-to-the-home build-out in North America. Julian Mullaney joined TE Connectivity in 2012, working as the Director of Telecom R&D - South America, where they built an R&D function in South America to develop products for the region and reduce costs by localizing production in Brazil. Julian also worked closely with large customers to innovate fiber to the home products for the local market. In 2015, they joined CommScope as the Principal Architect - Research & Development, where they played a key role in architecting research and development projects. Currently, Julian Mullaney is serving as the Vice President of Research & Development at SunTech Medical, starting their role in May 2017.
Julian Mullaney completed their education at Kent College - High School in the UK from 1974 to 1980. Julian then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University from 1980 to 1984. Julian later obtained their MBA from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School from 1994 to 1996 with a specialization in Business.
