Douglas Sweet

Douglas Sweet currently serves as the Deputy Chief of Staff and has held various leadership roles within the University at Albany since September 2013, focusing on strategic planning, program assessment, and student engagement initiatives in the Division of Student Affairs. Prior experience includes program coordination for first-year students and leadership development at Marist College, where responsibilities involved planning orientation programs and mentoring first-year students. Academic background includes a Ph.D. in Educational Policy and Leadership from the University at Albany, an MA from the University of Colorado Boulder, and a Bachelor’s degree in Middle Childhood Education from John Carroll University. Prior to higher education, Douglas Sweet worked as a middle school history teacher, developing integrated curricula and engaging with diverse student needs.
