Kevin P. Smith is an accomplished archaeologist with over 45 years of experience in field, laboratory, and collections-based research, alongside 30 years of expertise in museum management and education. As the Founding Partner of Osprey Heritage Consulting, LLC, and a Research Associate at both the Smithsonian Institution's Museum of Natural History and the University at Albany, SUNY, Kevin has contributed significantly to archaeological research and museum operations. Previous roles include Deputy Director of Brown University's Haffenreffer Museum of Anthropology, where oversight included daily operations, staff development, and exhibition projects, and Curator of Anthropology at the Buffalo Museum of Science. Kevin's extensive involvement in grant review for the National Science Foundation and leadership within the Society for American Archaeology reflects a commitment to enhancing museum collections and archaeological accessibility. Kevin holds a doctoral candidacy from the University of Michigan and has multiple degrees in anthropology from Haverford College and the University of Michigan.
